How did you come to be in Reno: Came to Reno in 2013 – 6yrs ago: We lived in Lake Tahoe for 36 years and raised both daughters in Incline Village, NV. After they left home, it became time to “downsize” and turn in our snow blower for a more convenient and simpler life in Reno.
Favorite family activity: Attending sporting events of all kinds
Favorite family dessert: They like berry pie from Ikedas & I like carrot cake with lots of frosting
Favorite family scripture story: Acts 9 – The vision that marked the beginning of Saul’s conversion which was dramatic, not typical, and had immediate effects. This was opposite of my husband Bob’s slow & gradual conversion which took over 30 yrs of missionaries coming to our home. It finally took two sister missionaries that “touched his heart” to receive the word, be baptized and soon endowed. Bob’s vision was being able to tell his first new grandson that he was a member of the church now, being the only member on his side of the family.
Valued family lesson learned from the scriptures: Proverbs 3:5-5 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.”
Valued family lesson learned as a family: Gordon B. Hinckley said, “Keep trying, be believing, be happy, don’t get discouraged – Things will work out.”
Random fact about family: We had our girls later in life at my age of 35 and 40 yrs. Both girls were the only female members of the church during their middle & high school years in Incline. Bob gets along well with all three of us girls and our diverse personalities.
